The Music and Dance are Married
Psalm 150:4Praise him with the
timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs
Angela Brannon Tarleton Writes
At the 1987 Worship Symposium
“Three basic types of music are: melodic,
rhythmic and dramatic; all of which are closely related to the human body.
Melody
- through its original source in the breath and voice.
Metric
– rhythm through the change of weight of the feet and the pulse.
Dramatic
- the emotions of the song. The lowest lows to the highest highs, this is
what gives music and dance life, variety, and meaning. Listen to the music,
Capture the music in the dance.”
